Saint John Rock Camp Showcase 2022

Going to the 2022 Saint John Rock Camp Showcase

I was thrilled to be able to support and attend the Saint John Rock Camp Showcase at Imperial Theatre on the weekend. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people in the city to gather, perform, and create a community around music!

How could it get any more rock n roll?

Last year, the event was incredibly inspiring, so when the time came to meet with the organizers, I jumped at the chance to get on board and help with branding and marketing. Amelia Bailey was the champion on this one as her graphic design skills and time management make her a force, and honestly, that’s why we work so well and are complementary to one another. Strange grooves as a podcast with my amazing co-host, Cherise Letson, got involved this year too.

Programs Amelia Made with new branding

Now when it came to the logos they made, the props they created and brought on stage, holy wow! I took notes for my projects, and now I want to go to rock camp more than ever. Queue that scene with Jack Black.

How we helped bring the branding to life:

Over three weeks, we, but mostly Amelia helped create the slideshow with all the logos the bands had made during their week-long camp and created the programs, the new logo and the merch. A big thank you to the guys at Pristine who made the merch a reality. They always go above and beyond for our city and youth organizations.

All the bands on stage after the showcase!

Thank you to the organizations that made this happen, the facilitators who gave their time and expertise and most of all, in my opinion, to Abi Smith, who, year after year, blows my mind with her work ethic and ability to think bigger and better for our community.

Seeing those kids up there playing, designing and just hanging together reminded me to keep it real, rock n roll is forever and to pull our socks up at times and get inspired at work again.

After the showcase we met up at the moon

Marketing can be so fun sometimes and so chaotic too, but being able to work with great people and make ideas a reality is really freaking cool.

Amelia and I are still taking on a few clients this fall. If you are interested in digital marketing services and support, including photography, social media management, video editing, band management, festival planning etc., get in touch!
